1964年、５００部の限定盤で東京で出版、その後加筆されて1970年英語版が世界で発売された“grapefruit”。
その中から選び直し、著名な写真家のコラボで生まれたのが今作。
ジョンはこの本からインパイアされて♪ＩＭＡＧＩＮＥ　を書いたとか！
